PROUD 2-B-A SENIOR RIBBON
S.O.M. DOES NOT, and never will, put its hand into the government treasury, beg for corporate handouts, go after grants or, even attempt to guilt people into giving us money.
We don’t operate that way. Our structure says there are better ways to do business.
A WIN – WIN FOR ALL PARTIES
We believe there are many, many like-minded people who will be more than happy to help the Ministries feed and help deserving seniors.
We do offer something worthwhile and expressive for a $5.00 donation.*
It is our amazing, bright yellow PROUD 2-B-A SENIOR CAR RIBBON.
If this request can be labeled a fundraiser than call us, “THE FUND RAISINS”. It’s OK to laugh at us. We aren’t offended.
Even in the least!
It boils down to a simple gesture:
People helping people for nothing more than the feel good feeling a person gets doing a good deed.
And, you will never hear from one of the ministries gift recipients since we don’t publicize their names, addresses or phone numbers. Their privacy is of the utmost importance to us.
Helping those in need is far more important. We are not looking for, nor do we want or need, any sort of public blast of self importance.
Making ourselves feel good off someone’s misfortune or difficulty isn’t our way of doing business. It never will be.
Plus we don’t perform any action looking for an award or a pat on the back. We only do it because it’s the right thing to do. And, for no other reason.
As you know, $5.00 these days is barely, if even, two gallons of gas. Honestly, and it’s sad to say, but every day the $5 bill is a little closer to becoming the new $1 bill.
Of course, from a slightly more realistic point of view, it also means $5 isn’t that much for many of us. The best part however is that $5 will buy 3 meals at the local senior center for someone with limited or no resources.
In other words, $5 will still feed a person for one day who might not otherwise have enjoyed a hot meal. Or any meal that day for that matter.
So, in some wild and crazy, whacky, mixed up way, where just a minute ago $5 didn’t mean much to anyone, it actually turns out, $5.00 is really a lot.
It might even save someone’s life. $5 may be all they need to put some gas in the car, or take a taxi ride, or hop on the bus and have change left over to go buy that prescription. So, in another way, $5 is still big time depending on what you’re doing with it.
There is another best part to that $5 bill. Not only did you help feed a hungry person or maybe give them a chance to get a prescription they really need, but you didn’t notice the small dent in your pocket change.
You see it means more than you buying one, two or three tasty meals for a senior citizen needing help. But your good deed will be rewarded many times over via this website.
Yes, you’ll get a ribbon. And, yes you can come back as often as you desire to visit us and see what’s been posted. But, as a donor you may just find some surprises in your mailbox. A continued supply of thank you’s from us to you.
That’s how we operate. We get our feel good dose from helping and giving. We know if we share openly and willingly you will too. That’s an easy formula to live by.
*THE $5 MAY EVEN BE TAX DEDUCTIBLE GIVEN WE ARE A NON-PROFIT. ALWAYS CHECK WITH YOUR TAX ADVISOR BEFORE MAKING ANY DECISIONS IN THE TAXES ARENA.

Senior Outreach Ministries achieves it’s objectives with the capital we’ve either earned or received from donors. The Proud 2 B A Senior Ribbon for example. Donate $5, get a ribbon and help us help a hungry Senior Citizen in need. All proceeds remain in the Ministries to be used per our mission statement. We are a volunteer church. No one receives a salary or wage. Please help us help less fortunate hungry Seniors. We never have and never will ask the government for grants, funds or hand outs. Thank You in advance.
